Rosie by Eckersley Architects is a thoughtful extension of a Victorian weatherboard home in Ascot Vale, Victoria, designed to suit a young family’s lifestyle while retaining the charm of its original architecture. The renovation addressed structural issues, improved natural light, and enhanced indoor-outdoor connectivity. The ground floor features a family-centred, open-plan layout that seamlessly extends to the garden, while the upper floor provides a private retreat for the parents, complete with a master bedroom, living area, and roof terrace. The design combines contemporary elements with heritage features, creating a timeless and functional home that blends with its community.

  • We recently completed our major home renovation with Simon and his team at Blueprint and could not have been happier with the result for our family home. We restored our original Victorian weatherboard cottage, retaining the original features at the front of the house and extended out the back with a modern, architecturally designed two storey extension.

    The communication with Simon and our foreman Matt and his team was second to none. They were open and honest and helped us achieve all the detaits in our plans within our budget and they trouble- shooted any issues with us along the way with great knowledge and advice. There were no surprises due to their clear communication, honesty and transparency.

    The level of detail and craftmanship that they brought to our build really was impeccable - the carpenters and joiners they worked with all had a real passion for creating a dream home and really cared about the job. They worked closely with our architect along the way to create custom joinery and finishes which were outstanding.

    Our build was an extremely positive experience which we enjoyed from start to finish. Blueprint's attention to detail, responsiveness and professionalism throughout our build was exceptional and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking to renovate or build a new home.
