As a Master Builder Simon is clearly highly respected in his field and he and his team were a great asset to our substantial renovation. The architectural solutions for our west-facing renovation demanded ambitious solutions on a tight block and Simon approached every challenge with determination, patience, wisdom and intelligence. He demanded exceptionally high standards of everyone who represented the Blueprint Constructions name and work and was always across every detail, no matter how minor, from tender to handover. He had a solid relationship with our architect and he clearly understood the vision for the project. And apart from all their professional abilities, Simon, Matt and the team are a terrific bunch of reliable blokes we’d recommend any time.

Simon and the Blueprint Constructions team completed a substantial renovation of our Clifton Hill home in 2018/2019. We were thoroughly impressed with Simon’s professionalism and dedication to our project. This was a consistent feature of our interaction with Simon, right from the earliest days of the project when we approached him for an indicative cost estimate (and before he had even been engaged for the job).   Throughout the project, we felt that Simon and his team cared as much about the quality of the build as we did. Simon is a perfectionist and has a great eye, which meant that we trusted his judgement and valued his opinion on the many decisions that came up along the way. When we began the process of searching for a builder to complete the extensive remodel of our much-loved home in Carlton north, we were not experienced at all in renovations or construction. We knew we loved our architect’s design and we knew that we wanted to have our house forever – and that with three kids growing up, it needed to be robust, high quality and built to last!   From the moment we met with Simon and his team at their walk-through before tendering, we knew we were dealing with someone we could get along with. From speaking with previous clients of Blueprint’s to do our due diligence, we learnt that others had had similar initial experiences and, more importantly, this had translated to fantastic results and relationships.   Renovating a complex terrace house through covid whilst also juggling full time work and three kids could have been stressful, but working with Blueprint really was quite simple. Things which other renovators seem to experience just didn’t happen to us – corners weren’t cut, neighbour relationships (important in inner city) were prioritised, communication was high, workers and sub contractors were people you were happy to have in your home. Most importantly, we got a great result on time and on budget.   In short, we couldn’t be happier with our choice, the final product or the experience we had along the way.

Blueprint fully renovated our original 80’s family home and made it modern again. The project took 7 months and was delivered on time and to the original schedule. Throughout the renovation Simon provided updates and always kept us in the informed, he was always organized and was across everything. Our old Californian bungalow needed a complete “gut”. Whilst it was inhabitable, it was dark, dated and severely lacking in functionality.   After many years of false starts and many builders telling us that we should just tear the old girl down, we finally found Simon, who was willing to take on such a large project. Where others saw the impossible, Simon saw great potential. After approximately 8 months, we were able to move in to our incredibly beautiful and now fully functional home. We always wanted a home that our boys could enjoy and knowing that they love it as much as we do, made the whole renovation experience (which can be a very stressful one!!) all worth it. As an architect and structural engineer couple, we deal with builders regularly and we were very pleasantly surprised how enjoyable working with Blueprint construction was. Blueprint were professional and diligent yet relaxed and friendly. Issues were raised in a timely manner with proactive problem solving and clear communication. We were able to collaboratively discuss design detailing and resolve issues with Simon’s expertise. Simon had a great understanding of our aesthetic direction and strived to achieve this even if it was harder work. Although our renovation was modest, the attention to detail and quality of workmanship exceeded our expectation. Most people don’t speak fondly of their builder after a renovation. But with Simon, we are glad to be an exception to that rule! We have raved about Blueprint to our family and friends, most of whom now intend to use him on their own renovations, including one about to start in Clifton Hill!   We were so lucky to have found Blueprint prior to our renovation. Simon is calm, professional and has a great eye. He helped us with so many of the decisions for our place, both big and small. Most importantly, the quality and finish of Simons work is of a very high standard. It is obvious he takes a lot of pride in his work and won’t accept a mediocrity. Our architect has been so impressed and recommended Simon for other projects he is working on.   Our renovation had it shares of unforeseen ups and downs- we unexpectedly had to live in Sydney throughout the build, part of the house had to be demolished rather than being made good, the stumps were rotten and needed replacing. All of this could have been very stressful had Simon not been running our renovation. He has a cool head and presents a solution to everything in a way that two busy corporates can understand and deal with. Simon’s communication skills are exceptional and always would return calls, emails and texts really quickly. This makes a huge difference to the experience of renovating and also keeps the project moving quickly.   We could not recommend Simon highly enough and can’t wait to start our next project in the future (using Blueprint of course!)

Simon completed a renovation of our apartment in Armadale. I have had, like many home owners, a fair amount of experiences with renovations and after each one I swore I would never do a renovation again.   This renovation however, was totally different and stress free. Simon managed the renovation like projects ought to be managed with a time line, regular updates and outstanding communications. Simply fantastic. Simon was amazing from the moment we met for the tender process, suggesting effective, practical cost saving measures. My build commenced just before COVID-19 and the ensuing lockdowns hit. Not that you’d ever know it. My little house (on a tinsy tiny block) was delivered within budget, on time and it packs a punch! I only saw the house once during the 9 month build process before handover, but Simon was great about keeping me up to date with progress and I never had cause for concern. Simon and the Blueprint team have delivered an amazing home for our family. All throughout the process, we felt informed and in control. Despite the many questions and spec changes from us as first-time renovators, Simon was a complete professional and problem-solver. The whole process was completely smooth despite the impacts of COVID-19; we met all our time and cost expectations. As with any build, minor unforeseen issues arose here and there and the way they were dealt with showed the team’s professionalism – problems always came with options for resolution and a timely (and cost-effective) solution.
